Summer Fun!!

So, one great thing about summer is having incredible BBQ dinners with incredible friends!

This year, I've been trying to learn to cook. I've made it a goal to try one new recipe each week, with the hope of having made 52 new meals by the end of the year. We'll needless to say, I haven't quite hit my goal each week, but have tried several new recipes. Some haven't been so great (like my Teriyaki beef disaster) but I have had a few successes. To name a few, Chicken Meidera, Basil crusted salmon with sun dried tomatoes, and this awesome shish-kabob recipe that you will see below. It turned out soooo great!

It's just top sirloin steak (cut into squares), I bought this meat at Costco for about $3 a pound. All of this meat that you see on the grill totaled $11.00. It was so tender.

Then we marinated it the following recipe:

Mix - Olive oil, mustard and Balsamic Vinegar together in a bowl and marinate for about 1 hour. I didn't have Balsamic Vinegar so I used Red Wine Vinegar with garlic - It was still delicious. I also don't know the measurements (just kind of guessed) but it worked out.

In a separate bowl make up the same marinade for the vegetables.

We would have added more vegetables to the skewers but I was in a hurry at the store and figured that we had enough veggies with the side dishes of corn and potatoes.

We were so blessed to have Amanda and Linda Anderson over for dinner! Amanda helped me make these awesome recipe!! Thanks Amanda!

The boys lovin' on Linda!
