Easter Weekend

I love Easter. It's our time as Christians to celebrate the incredible gift of an empty tomb, and the promise of new life. It's the reminder that we believe in a Savior who not only died for our sins, but then triumphed over death three days later. To put it simply, we have a God who loves us beyond our comprehension, beyond our understanding and it feels good to celebrate that!

This Easter weekend was life giving for us as a family. We spent a lot of time playing, praying and relaxing together, enjoying our family and close friends.

Saturday afternoon was spent doing an Easter craft.

The kids played outside and I took this picture of the first blooms on a bush in our backyard. It's just one more reminder of the beauty and hope that springs forth with a new season.

We enjoyed the Easter Vigil at St. John's Cathedral later that evening. Everything about it was b e a u t i f u l. The readings, the music and watching an amazing group of people enter the Church was breathtaking. Even with 5 kids wiggling around, I couldn't help but get a little emotional watching the baptisms.

We got home at midnight, put the kids down and then got busy filling eggs with jellybeans and quietly preparing for the Easter morning. By 2:15 am we were finally finished. And even though we were exhausted, we had so much fun! These are the moments that I dreamed about before I had children and I have to say that it's always more fun than I imagined.

We headed over to my parents for Easter Brunch! And the kids were delighted to see that the Easter Bunny had also made a stop at Yia-Yia and Papou's house!

Later in the afternoon we were off to my Aunt Jane's and uncle Gary's beautiful home. The weather was perfect and the kids enjoyed exploring the country landscape of their amazing yard.

Gianna discovered the joy of chocolate this Easter and she would sit diligently peeling off the thin foil wrap off each of the countless chocolate eggs that she consumed.
